The army said on Monday it would not use force against Egyptians staging protests demanding President Hosni Mubarak step down, a statement said.
It said “freedom of expression” was guaranteed to all citizens using peaceful means.
That is pretty much that, methinks. Of course this could drag on. However, it would not be surprising if Mubarak resigned in a few hours.
And to reiterate: This does not mean Jeffersonian democracy or the Westminster System takes root in Egypt. Revolutions are often absconded with (See: Romania 1989)
